Objectives

DirectLight has been running on the web since 2005 and we have done much work for their website over those years.

DirectLight’s objectives were:

to streamline and improve the online customer experience

to customise some of the existing ecommerce functionality

to better manage customers, orders and stock control

to improve search engine positioning

 


What we did

So much has been done on DirectLight’s website over the last few years that we can’t even list it all here! Some of the more important work done in this time includes:

Extensive modifications to ecommerce functionality.

Implementation of search engine friendly URLs.

Modification of document and data structure for better keyword optimisation.

Creation of a customer and order management and support system.

Integration of the above with Sage Accounts software, for automatic invoicing and stock ordering.


Results

Our work on DirectLight has yielded some very good, measurable results.

DirectLight now enjoys a very substantial increase in online turnover; when at its peak, turnover was greater than 600% of original 2005 levels.

The site’s pay-per-click advertising campaign has been streamlined and made more cost effective.

Search engine positioning has greatly increased, with DirectLight now Google’s number 1 natural listing for some core search terms and first page rankings for several others.

Website appearance, accessibility and compatibility with different browsers and system configurations have been considerably improved.
