Sasparilla's Bar & Cocktail Lounge

Sasparilla came to Blue Canvas looking for a new website that offered something “a bit different”. The client is a bar and cocktail lounge and wanted a website that reflected the warm, vibrant and friendly atmosphere o the establishment.
Briefing us for a design that was to be eye-catching and unusual, we were also asked to provide a way for staff to update the content and allow customers to make contact directly through the website.
What we did
We started by throwing out the window all notions of more “traditional” website layouts and opted for an AJAX, tab-based design with full-screen images in the background.
These images rotate through a fading transition slideshow, while the tabs can be navigated to different pages without interrupting the background.
Each tab constitutes a separate page and can be added as a bookmark or favourite, thereby overcoming one of AJAX’s major disadvantages.
Results
Sasparilla now enjoys a concise and aesthetically pleasing website, with a contact form for bookings and enquiries and full content management for updating the contents of each page.
Blue Canvas has created a foundation link strategy for Sasparilla, ensuring the site is listed in core directories and all major search engines.
Sasparilla have reported a steady increase in website enquiries since launch.
